A few years ago, I developed an obsession with a strange object: the Miseyo Identity Theft Protection Roller. A self-inking roller stamp that printed scrambled text-like shapes, it is intended to obscure personal information like account numbers on mail. This motif and its implications invaded my work; as well as security envelope patterns and other patterns and scrambled letters meant to anonymize or erase ourselves or our identities in the name of perceived safety.
